Jessica Rowe is a mum, journalist and author. The role she is most proud of is being a mother to her two daughters Allegra and Giselle. In her professional life she is one of Australia’s best known television presenters. She began her career almost twenty years ago and has held various positions including a decade as co-host of Network Ten’s First at Five News. She has also co-hosted the Today Show. Jessica regularly appeared on Sunrise and Weekend Sunrise on the Seven Network. Recently she relished swapping her news presenting role for sparkly dancing shoes appearing on Seven’s Dancing with the Stars.
Jessica currently co-hosts Studio10 with Sarah Harris, Joe Hildebrand and Ita Buttrose.
Jessica is passionate about news and current affairs as well as advocacy work for mental health organisations. She is patron of the Mental Health Council of Australia, ambassador for beyondblue and patron of its work on postnatal depression. Jessica is on the board of the George Gregan Foundation and is a member of the IVF Australia Ethics Committee.
Jessica has written a book with her mother, Penelope Rowe, called The Best of Times, The Worst of Times, an account of their family’s experience of living with Penelope’s bipolar disorder. Most recently she has written Love.Wisdom.Motherhood a book of conversations with inspiring women.
Jessica has a Bachelor of Arts, Majoring in Communications from Charles Sturt University in Bathurst and a Masters of International Studies from Sydney University.
Jessica is married to Nine News anchor Peter Overton and they have two daughters. And they share their home with their grey cat, Alfie.
